LOCAL ATTRACTIONS #36: THE HISTORICAL WALKING TOUR OF DUBLIN

Established in 1986, the Historical Walking Tour of Dublin is the longest running walking tour in Dublin City. Originally established to provide an income for post graduate history students, the tour prides itself in offering an entertaining and often amusing side to the history of the city of Dublin.

Historical Walking Tour of DublinThe award-winning tour is presented by friendly and expert guides who take you on a journey of the city’s history. Dedicated to their craft, the guides explore the main features of Irish history, including Dublin’s development throughout the centuries, the influence of both the American and French Revolutions, the Great Famine, the 1916 Rising and subsequent War of Independence along with many other topics.

Tours leave from the front gate of Trinity College Dublin and last over 2 hours.

Spring/Autumn (April & October): 11am each day.

Distance from West County Hotel
The starting point of the Historical Walking Tour of Dublin is located at the front gates of Trinity College Dublin. This is situated just 7km from West County Hotel, or a 20 minute drive. Take Bus 26 from outside the hotel and get off at Stop 406 (Nassau).
